During 1983 India, Goalpara district was split into four different districts and Dhubri is a result of the division. Dhubri is the name of a town and a district in the state of Assam in India.
Having agriculture as the staple livelihood for a huge majority of the people in the district it produces crops like winter paddy, mustard, rape seeds and wheat.
Aside from agriculture, a small fraction of human work-force is into occupations and trade in live- stock, forestry and fishery,
