City Map of Hazaribagh - Bihar

Literally means a thousand gardens, Hazaribagh is the divisional headquarters of the Hazaribagh district, Jharkand state and India.

Derived from two Hindi words hazar and bag, which means thousand and garden respectively, the city is well situated 2019 feet above sea level. Its excellent climate and charming splendor in amidst a thick forest rich in flora and fauna make it a popular health resort.

Hazaribagh has three distinct physical features: first, the western section is a high plateau with an undulating and cultivated surface; second, along the north and eastern portions stretches a lower and more extensive plateau; and third, the central valley of the Damodar river occupies the entire southern region.

The combination of rock, hill and jungle creates a generally pleasing, and often striking scenery. The district also forms part of the chain of high land extending across India, south of the Sone River on the east and south of the Nerbudda on the west.
