Chandigarh, the capital of Haryana and Punjab, is one of the most beautifully, well-planned cities in the world. It is the brainchild of the esteemed French architect Le Corbusier who built in the year 1953. This was in fact the first planned city in India. The name of the city came from the Goddess of power known as Shri Chandika whose temple is on Chandigarh- Kalka Road.
Many of the tourist destinations are just easily accessible because Chandigarh was strategically designed to connect to all important neighboring cities easily by trains, roadways, and airlines.It prides itself with its many theme-based parks and gardens. One of which is the Rose Garden—one of the largest in Asia.
