The romantic and quiet Chandigarh, with all its charms, is literally a treasure trove for the traveling buff. Once you get there you have a wide option for some fabulous leisure and recreational activities.

The remarkable Rock garden, a famous tourist spot, is an architectural marvel, covering a whopping area of 6 acres. It was built by Nekchand Saini, with multicolored pieces of stones and other discarded bits and pieces.

An artificial lake, the Sukhna Lake is delicately spread over an ample area. Excellent boating facilities are available here and walking around the perimeters of the lake is a very refreshing experience, not to mention calming.

The Museum-cum-Art Gallery is another awe-inspiring place to see. It houses an extensive variety of paintings and sculptures by contemporary Indian artists, as well as a collection of old Indian miniatures of the Mughal, Kangra and Rajasthani School. It is not only a vacation destination but a great way to connect with nature and bask in the beauty and wonder that is always surprisingly spiritual and inspiring.
