Timing

Working hours

8.30 A.M. to 5.30P.M. (Monday to Friday)
Passport/Visa applications/documents for attestation are accepted between 0900 hours to 1130 hours on working days. Passports/Visas/attested documents are delivered between 1500 hours to 1600 hours on working days.

Visa Information

The Embassy of India, Beijing issues business, student, employment, tourist, entry and other types of visas to Chinese nationals and to other nationals.

Applicants can deposit their visa applications at the Visa Hut situated in the premises of the Embassy from 9.00 A.M. to 11.30 A.M.

All applications need to be completed and signed by the applicant himself. No incomplete application will be accepted. Applications can be submitted in person or can be sent through representatives.

Time of collection of visas and passports is from 3.00 P.M. to 4.00 P.M.

Tourist Visa

For group tourist visas (four or more), the application has to be supported by documents from the local tour operator arranging the trip and its Indian counterpart and should contain the detailed itinerary. Such visas will be valid for entry after 15 days from the date of issue.

As the processing time for tourist visas other than the group tourist visa is about 6 weeks, applicants should apply well in advance

Business Visa

A one month single entry visa can be given on a letter of invitation issued by any one of our Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Business Councils, Trade Promotion Bodies, Members of the India-China Joint Business Council, Central and State Public Sector undertakings or reputed private sector companies.

The letter of invitation must be attached with the application and also a letter from the applicant's company introducing him/her. The letter should also state the general purpose of the visit, places to be visited and persons/companies to be contacted.

One-month single entry business visas are normally issued within 3-4 working days provided all the requirements are met. Long-term business visas are also issued. However, the processing time for such visas is about 6 weeks.

Employment visa

Applications for employment visas must be accompanied by an appointment letter/contract from the employer in India. Processing time taken is about 6 weeks.

Student visa

Applicants for student visas are required to submit one copy of the letter of admission from one of the recognized institutions along with their applications.

Applicants should apply well in advance, as processing time taken is about 6 weeks.
