Timing
Applications for the grant of Visas are accepted on all Working Days (Mondays to Fridays), from 8.30 a.m. to 12.00 noon. (Emergency cases are also dealt with between 2.00 to 3.00 p.m.). Normally, documents are returned between 3.00 p.m. and 4.00 PM on the same day, unless it requires reference to other authorities of the Government of India.

Visa Information

Nationals of RUSSIAN FEDERATION are also exempted from payment of basic visa fees, or fee for transferring valid visa from old passport to new passport, as well as, Fees for Restricted / Protected areas permit, but are required to pay a service charge of US$ 40.00, and US$ 6.00 (equivalent of Rs. 250.00) respectively.

An express fee of US$ 11.00 (equivalent of Rs. 500.00) will charged from Nationals of HUNGARY for same day service.

Service fee for transferring a valid visa from old passport to new passport is also not charged from Nationals of PAKISTAN and SRI LANKA.

Visa fees for a 10 year validity tourist / business visa for U.S. Nationals is the same as for a 5 years visa. A Visa application fee of US$ 20.00 is charged from all U.S. Nationals, including official passport holders on non-official travel. However this fee will not be charged from US official passport holders when on an official visit, and from US diplomatic passport holders, irrespective of the nature of the visit.

Nationals of all the above countries will be required to pay other fees like for communication charges etc.

Normal visa fees i.e. US$10 for transit visa and US$40 for visas valid up to six months will be charged from Canadian diplomatic and official passport holders, if the purpose is a private visit.

All kinds of Visas other than transit and student visas, Valid for over 1 year and upto 5 years (Multiple Entry) 130.00

Sri Lankan Nationals (Single entry) (equivalent of Rs. 135.00) 3.00
Sri Lankan Nationals (Double entry) (equivalent of Rs. 270.00) 6.00
Romanian nationals(equivalent to Rs 300.00) 6.00
Romanian nationals(equivalent to Rs 300.00) 5.00
In case any application needs to be referred to other authorities, necessary
communication charges, for telex/fax etc., will also be levied. This also applies to exempted categories.
