Mysore Palace:
Mysore Palace is not only grandest palace of Karnataka but also consider as grandest and luxurious palace in India.
The palace was built by Wadeyars and over the time it rebuilt many time with quality additions. The present structure was built after the palace caught fire during a wedding ceremony in 1897. Today’s palace was designed by famous architect Henry Irwin and he did a splendid job.
He used many designs from different styles like Indo-saroenic, Gothic, Hindu and Muslim architecture art to built a palace that still has no match.
Mysore Palace has been converted into museum; here visitor can see the paintings, gold artifacts, jewelry, and many other items that once belong to Wodeyar dynasty.
Mysore palace is also famous for Dussehra celebration, which perform here during the month of October or November every year. The timing to visit the Mysore palace is on all days from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm.
Bidar Fort:
It is one of the most imposing structures in Karnataka. The fort was built in the 15th century and situated around 40 kms from the Gulbarga and adjacent to Manjira River Valley. |
