Gwalior Fort:
The Gwalior Fort is a landmark of Gwalior city and situated at atop of hill.
The Gwalior Fort is located 100 meters above from the city and about 3 km in length and approx a km in width. The grand Gwalior Fort is stand on an isolated rock and houses many historical buildings.
There are many remarkable Hindu temples are situated within the fort. Some of them are Sas Bahu ka Mandir, Teli-ka-Mandir etc. Except these temples Jain sculptures, Man Singh Palace and museum are other attractions of the fort.
Datia Fort:
It is a unique architectural work of Rajput and Mughal architecture. The fort was built by the Bundela chief Bir Singh Deo in 1620.
Deogarh Fort and Chanderi Fort:
These forts are situated on the either side of Betwa River in the main route to the Deccan.
Here tourist can find ruin walls of forts and the remains of over thirty Jain temples (these temples dating back to the 9th and 10th centuries).
Kalinjar Fort:
It is to believe that Kalinjar Fort belongs to son of King Bharata (from whom India took its ancient name, Bharat). The fort is situated at the top of the hill and best place to experience the ancient architecture of the India. |
