Taragarh fort is located at the Kota town of the state. The fort was built in 1345 and was the center of power in central Rajasthan. The fort is famous for its grandness and curved. From Taragarh fort you can get panoramic view of Kota town, particularly at twilight and just after sunset.
Junagarh Fort:
The mysterious fort is located in Bikaner and was built by Raja Rai Singh in 1587. The fort had been attacked many times but never been conquered. The fort is famous for its impressive monuments, huge towers, and battlements for defense. The Junagarh fort houses 37 palaces, many temples, and pavilions. Even today many palaces and temples are well decorated and painted in traditional style.
Chittorgarh Fort:
It is consider as most mysterious fort with heroic history in Rajasthan. The history of Chittorgarh Fort is full of war and sacrifices in the defense of honor and pride of ruler clans. Some popular attractions of the fort are fateh Prakash Palace, Rana Kumbha Palace, Rani Padmini Palace, and 122 feet high Vijay Stambha (Tower of Victory).
Amber Fort:
The beautiful fort is located 11 kms from Jaipur. The fort is set at the bank of Maota Lake. The Amber (also known as Amer Killa) was built by Raja Man Singh with later addition by Raja Jai Singh in 1592. It is one of the popular tourist spots of Jaipur in Rajasthan.
Mehrangarh Fort:
The grand and huge Mehrangarh is a majestic monument of Rajasthan, built by Rao Jodha Singh in 1459. Mehrangarh Fort is located about 400 feet above from Jodhpur City and gives panoramic view of the city. |
