With an area of 44,212 square kilometers, Haryana has a total length of 29,524 kilometers of cemented roads, making it one of the most well connected states in the whole of Asia.
Each village of the state is now linked with paved roads and the state government is looking into building an express highway and freeways for speedier vehicular traffic.
The government encourages private sector investment in this goal to upgrade and provide additional roads. Haryana has five national highways passing through it totaling to a length of 665 kilometers.
The state highways total to 3,135 kilometers while district and other roads total to 1,587 kilometers and 17,190 kilometers respectively. Haryana Roadways meanwhile are plied with a total of 3,411 buses. There are 82 Bus Stands and 20 Bus Depots and around 1, 075,000 passengers travel by these buses everyday. Luxury video coaches were also first introduced in the state.
