Lahaul is usually made mentioned with Spiti. Although they were once completely separate geographical bodies they have now been brought together to form a new district.

The district of Lahaul is a mountainous area that is located between Ladakh and Tibet in the north and the Kullu valley in the south. Lahaul begins just 51-km north of Manali, right after crossing the 3978m (13,127 ft) Rohtang Pass. Many of the peaks here are over a massive 6000m, the highest being Mulkila at 6,500m.

Lahaul's landscape is entirely fashioned by ice and snow. Its mounds and mounds of dry barren mountainous areas dotted with some green areas.

The rugged awe-inspiring snow clad mountains are standing invitations to the hikers, mountaineers and adventurers. Although its scenic splendor is impeccable, it's not the only thing that charms tourists every year.

Another uniquely beautiful feature of this land's untamed natural wonders is its people's customs, myths, beliefs, conventions and simplicity of every day life.
