In the heart of the western Himalayas lies Himachal--a totally mountainous state constantly inviting visitors to indulge in her natural wonders all year round, especially during the summer season when people want to get away from the scorching heat of the plains.
The view is one for wonderful postcard sending. The state is bounded by Jammu and Kashmir in the North, and Uttar Pradesh in the South-East. Haryana lies in the South while Punjab is in the West.
Himachal is situated between 30"22' and 30"12' north latitude and between 75"47' and 79"4' east longitude. With its altitudes ranging from 350 to 7000 meters (1050 ft. to 21000 ft.) above the sea level it's no wonder that people keep flocking to marvel at its unique beauty.
In the famous words of Skanda Purana “A hundred divine epochs would not suffice to describe all the marvels of Himachal. And goes onto saying that, ”As the dew is dried up by the morning sun, so are the sins of mankind by the sight of Himachal.
