The historical and phantom city Fatehpur Sikri was
established by the Great Mughal Emperor Akbat and seated it as its
capital for 12 years. Fatehpur Sikri is wonderful place to experience
the charm of Mughal era. The city is wonderful example of Mughal
art and architecture. The wonderful monuments with in the area are
Jama Masjid or the Friday Mosque (one of the largest mosques iun
india), Tomb of Shaikh Salim Chisti, Place of Jodha Bai, Birbal
Bhawan, Karawan Serai and Hiran Minar, Palace of the Christian Wife,
Panch Mahal, Diwan-i-Khas and Diwan-i-Aam. Best time to visit Fhatepur
Sikri is between November and February. The old city is easy access
from the national capital New Delhi and Taj city Agra though Taj
express highway and Shatabdi train. Agra is nearest place where
you can get quality accommodation in luxury or budget category.
