Gangtok is a capital of Sikkim, a state of India. The
wonderful hill station is located in the eastern part of Indian
Territory. Every year large number of tourist visit the Himalayan
town and number is increasing. The best part of the Gangtok is that
the local people still have a strong believe in their customs and
old-age traditions. It doesn’t mean that city is not developed
you can find here broad roads, posh markets, hospital ,educational
institutes, flyovers, fast food corners, discotheques and all other
modern amenities which you can expect from any other city in India.
Government institute of cottage industry, do-Drul Chorten (Stupa),
Enchey Monastery, ridge Park & White Hall complex, Hanuman Tok,
Himalayan Zoological Park and Sa-Ngor- Chotshog Center are major
tourist attraction with in a town. The hill town is well connected
to the plane, road and rail services. The nearest airport is Bagdogra
(124kms), nearest railway station is Jalpaiguri (148 kms) and also
have helicopter service between Gangtok and Bagdogra.
