Haridwar, one of the holiest and oldest cities of India
is located in the north Indian state of Uttrakhand. Haridwar is
only 214 kilometers from the national capital New Delhi. One of
the most holy pilgrims of India the town has an importance in the
Hindu religion. The small city is known as ‘gateway of the
Gods’. It is also a gateway to reach four main pilgrims of
Hindu religion Kedharnath, Badrinath, Yamnotri and Gangotri. Haridwar
has many sacred places to visit and some of them are Har-ki-pauri,
the sacred ghat, every evening Ganga Aarti is recite in the ghat
by the locals and pundits and during this ritual the golden reflection
of floral diyas in the Ganga provide a majestic and enchanting view.
Candi Devi Mandir is situated at Neel Parvat and one of the oldest
temples of Haridwar. Mansa Devi Temple is another scared temple
of the town. Bharat Mata Temple, Maya Devi Temple, Bhimgoda, Vaishno
Devi temple and Shanti Kunj are other important temples in spiritual
city Haridwar. Due to the spiritual importance Haridwar is most
visited places in India by domestic and foreign tourists. Haridwar
is very well connected the other part of country through rail, plane
and road transport.
