Karnataka, the lofty land, boasts of a landscape that is varied, with a beautiful coast, flatland plains and a lot of mountains.

Dotted with hill stations, beach resorts and architectural excavations, the state is a great vista for tourists with every kind of interest. The two attractive wildlife parks here are Nagarhole and Bandipur.

The two may be separate units but are part of a larger neighboring wildlife reserve namely the Mudumalai Sanctuary in Tamil Nadu and the Wynad Reserve in Kerala. Bandipur National Park meanwhile, is a Tiger Reserve with open grassy woodland lying on the south of the Kabini River.

Aside from a rich wildlife reserve, Karnataka is also the home of Gol Gumbaz. Found in Bijapur, it showcases an astounding engineering achievement with its enormous "Whispering" dome. This is second in size to Rome's St. Peter's Basilica and the second largest in the world.

The land of surprises, Hampi, is also located in the state. Celebrated for its might and wealth, visistors can still get a glimpse of the Vijayanagara Empire's splendor. From beaches to different kind of gardens, Karnataka is truly a myriad of beautiful images reflecting an old-world charm.
