“The Land of the Highlanders” or Mizoram as it is known is a land generally composed of hills, specifically the Mizo Hills. According to tradition, the Mizos migrated from their homeland in China about three centuries ago in search for new pastures and stayed in these remote hills now known as the Mizo Hills.

Mizoram has evergreen ranges of hills with exotic flowers and dense bamboo jungles. Its hills and gorges are criss-crossed by narrow rivers and dazzling waterfalls.

Aside from the natural beauty that the tourists can enjoy, there is also a wide array of festivals and dances, handicrafts and a temperate climate. The inhabitants of the state, the Mizos, are known to be friendly and hospitable. One of the most common languages spoken is English.

This joyous enthusiasm and high spirit of the people have been great factors for establishing some of the most attractive tourism features in this wonderful state.
