Tourist Map of Nagaland
Nagaland is a land of great natural treasures. Its topography is cut by swift-flowing rivers and sparkling waterfalls, surrounded by blue hills with lush vegetation and exotic variety of flowers and wildlife. The pine, sal, bamboo and cane are the most commonly found trees while the mithun, bison and golden langurs are the state's major animals.
Nagaland is known for its many festivals. Most of these are connected to springs, sowing seeds, frist crops, harvest, end of the year and Christmas festivals.
An example of this is the Sekrenyi festival, belonging to the Angami tribe, which signifies the end of the agricultural cycle and lasts for 10 days. |

| Another is the Konyak Aoling festival which denotes the coming of the New Year. This is celebrated in the month of April. There are also festivals like the Ao Moatsu festival and the other non-traditional festivals of May and October that draw good crowds.
Kohima, the capital of Nagaland, offers several places of tourist attraction such as the Kohima War Cemetery, the State Musuem, Kohima Village, Chedema Peace Camp, Pulie Badze Peak, Japfu Peak, Mt. Tempfu, Dzukou Valley and some other spots. |
