The first thing you see as you approach the glorious city of Bikaner is its magnificent fort which remains to boast of its sturdy establishment to this very day.
It was founded in 1488 -- with its people mostly incoming from various trades ranging from glass and pottery making, shoes, chemicals, electrical products, sheep and camels raising, spinning and weaving wool, and coal mining.
During the 16th century it was a major hub for the economic industry. It's had very little influence from the outside, and so much of its old world charm, traditional lifestyle mystery and mysticism is still remain a part of its people today.
Because of the Ganga canal which served it well all throughout the years 1925-1927, the arid landscape was well irrigated.
It's also here that tourists are often awed at the 16th century Rajput palaces that adorn its already beautiful sceneries of the calming desert, bright turbans and a lush carpet of greens.
