Sikkim possesses bountiful biodiversity. The area's150 lakes is teeming with over 4000 species of flowering plants, making it a botanist's paradise. It also hosts over 600 species of orchids, and more than 40 species of rhododendrons. Another is its 600 species of birds, which is around half of the over 1200 species to be found in India. |
