Andhra Pradesh Tourist Attractions

The abode of the Pre- Dravidian brunette color natives, Andhra Pradesh, India’s 3rd largest state is one of the flattering tourist spot. Also known as the "Rice Granery of India", this charming state is a blending of nature, culture, tradition and off course have magnificent Hyderabad’s Charminar in its treasure.

Situated in the southern part of the India, Andhra Pradesh is bordered by Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Bay of Bengal and Tamil Nadu.

The medieval conurbation of Hyderabad is its headquarters. If you are in the category of those tourists who have an eye to retrace the history of the region then this state provides you with wide options. Andhra Pradesh history dates back to some three hundred B.C.

Bearing the legacy of various dynasties the various monuments situated in this state retells the whole past of this region. To start with the Charminar of Hyderabad is the most alluring tourist spot in Andhra Pradesh. This landmark was built by Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah in 1591.

This bravura square shaped structure has four towers in four corners with 48.7metre high minarets are built of granite while the adjoining four majestic arches justify its name Char minar. The edifice supports two floors and a gallery.

Another historical monument that you can see is the tombs of the Qutb Shahi kings. It is the one of the oldest memorial of the city and have the tombs of entire dynasty buried in it. This exceptional piece of art is blending of Hindu, Pathan and Persian architectural styles. It is situated near another famous tourist spot, known as Golconda Fort.

Golconda Fort of Hyderabad is another brilliant citadel of Andhra Pradesh. This famous spot is situated about 11km from Hyderabad, on the western border.

Originally the fortress was made of mud during Kakatiya period. As time passed and reached the threshold of Qutb Shahis regime, it was rebuilt and the work continued more than six decades. The fort is renowned for its palaces, acoustics, factories and resourceful water supply system.

Falaknuma Palace Situated 5km south of famous Charminar, this classical design two storied is a unique blending of Tudor and Italian architecture. Designed in the shape of scorpion, this pieace of art was constructed by Nawab Vikar-ul-Umra Bahadur. Also known as the 'Mirror of the Sky' the palace is treasure of antique paintings, books, manuscripts and furniture of European and Oriental style.
 
Besides you can also visit one of the oldest Indian University known as  Osmania University. Built in 1918, it was named after the Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan in 1918. It’s a masterpiece of Indo-Saracenic architectural blending.
