Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra

This place shows the majestic exposition of the historical culture and traditions of Assam. It has been constructed in the memory of greatest Vaishnava saint Srimanta Sankardeva. He was the greatest integrator of Assamese society. In fact in Kalakshetra you will find the beautiful blend of multiple arts. There is a central museum, an open air theatre, an Artists' Village and library of world famous rare books and manuscripts.

Sualkuchi

Sualkuchi in Assam is one of the largest weaving villages in whole world which produces three exclusive varieties of silks which are white pat, warm Eri and golden Muga. It is known as the Manchester of the East.

 

You will find here all people engaged in weaving superb silk fabrics. Even the unique fact about this place is that the Golden Muga silk of Assam is not produced in whole world except Assam.

Majuli,
Other renowned aspect about Assam is Majuli which is the biggest river island. Being located at the center of river Brahmaputra it is the main point of Vaishnava culture. You can see here more than 15 Vaishnava monasteries including Kamalabari, Samoguri and Dakhinpat. In these centers you can find the exclusive combinations of drama, art, music and literature.

Haflong
Haflong is a hill station in Assam. A gorgeous Haflong Lake is also situated here. This hilly part of Assam is known as the land of sensuousness. One amazing fact about this place is that here every year big clusters of migratory commit mass suicide. These migratory birds come here during August to November and then it becomes the place of great attraction for tourists. The best time to visit here is from August to April.

Kaziranga National Park

This park is the innate habitant place for one-horned Indian rhinoceros and it is also world heritage. Here you can see amazing animals like Indian bison, Hog Deer, Jungle cat, Cormorants, Indian bison and many more.
