Tourist Attractions in Delhi

Delhi, the capital of India is the second metropolitan of India. It is situated in the hub of the country. The city offers rich experience to its visiting tourists with the breathtaking view of the various tourists’ attraction.

Red Fort:

Red Fort, commonly known as Lal Quila was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. This monument is a complete homage to the grand architecture of the Mughal period standing with poise and supremacy.

Purana Quila

After Lal Quila, Purana Quila is a must visit place. It was rebuilt by Sher Shah after Hamayun in the year 1539. Sher Mandal and Qal- l Kunha are the two monuments inside Purana Quila. It is said that Purana Quila is known to be the encouragement behind the “Taj Mahal”.

Hamayun Tomb:

Hamayun Tomb was built by Haji Begum after nine years from the expiry of Hamayun. It was constructed by a Persian architect, Mirak Mirza.

Qutab Minar:

Qutab Minar was built by Qutab- ud- din Aibek. Situated at Mehrauli of South Delhi, the monument is a true representation of Indian culture.

Baha’i Temple:

Popularly known as Lotus temple, the temple was built by Baha’I community. The in the shape of a lotus and offers a breathtaking view to the tourist’s.

Laxminarayan Temple:

Popularly known as Birla Mandir, Laxminarayan Temple was built by Birla’s in the year 1938. The setting of the temple is very attractive. It is situated by fountains and large gardens behind it. The temple is over –crowded with lots of devotee on Janamashtami day. The most amazing fact is that in year 1948, Mahatma Gandhi was shot down in this temple.

India Gate:

India Gate is an added beauty of Delhi. It is a worth seen place for people in the evening. It was constructed in the memory of the Indian fighters who suffered a lot during the Afgan war. The ambience of the place makes it a happening place for the old and young ones.
