Karnataka, one of the southern states of India, has so many beautiful beaches which attract the tourists from all over the world. Karnataka shares 320 km coastline with the Arabian Sea.

Sea Beaches of Karnataka

It is 386 kms away from Bangalore. It is a nice spot for boating and bathing. It is well-linked with airport, rails and roads, the nearest airport and railway linked to Malpe Beach are Mangalore airport and Mangalore rail station. The Saint Mary’s island is near the beach which is suitable for boat riding.

Murudeshwar Beach
Besides the beautiful landscapes of the place, Murdeshwar Beach is known for its temples, carvings and statues.

The sea water, the hills, the coconut trees add beauty to the spot. Devotees as well as the tourist prefer to visit the spot due to its beautiful sights and temples.

The rituals that are celebrated in Murudeshwar beach are Bhuta worship, the Kambala (buffalo race) or Korikatta the cockfight.  The side of the beach is suitable both for boating and bathing.

The Murdeshwar Temple is situated near the beach.  It is 16 kms away from Bhatkal. It is 180 kms away from Mangalore. It has legend related to Ravana. A huge fort is also seen behind the temple, which is said to have been embellished by the ruler of Mysore, Tipu Sultan.

The nearest airport to Murudeshwar is Goa and the rail station is Hubli.

Mangalore Beach

The charm of the Mangalore beaches is added by the coconut trees, beautiful cottages, temples and churches.  The beaches are just 5 kms away from the main city of Mangalore. One will not face difficulty here as the Mangalore Airport and Rail Station are situated nearest to the beaches.

A seaport of Hyder Ali’s time, Mangalore, is now the main business centre of coffee of the state. The main tourist attractions of the Mangalore beaches are the Mangala Devi Temple, Kadri Manjunatha Temple, Jumma Masjid, Shreemanthi Bai Memorial Government Musuem and Pilikula Nisagardhama Park. If one likes to spend beautiful moments, the boating centre of the Pilikula Nisagardhama Park is the best to give him the wild enjoyment of boating.

Karwar
The wild waves, the valleys, the dense woods, the surrounding hills, the shining sands are enough to catch the attention of the tourists. Karwar is a little town near the Arabian Sea. It is known that the great Indian poet, Rabindranath Tagore wrote his first play here. The spots located near the beach are Sadashivgad Hill Fort with the adjacent Durga Temple, Venkartrama Temple and the five beautiful islands. The Karwar beach is 100 km away from Goa.
