This city was formed by an Afghan soldier named Dost Mohammed in the year 1707 to 1740. Later on, his heir converted Bhopal into a beautiful city. Bhopal is known as the city of lake. Two attractive lakes of Bhopal are indeed the center of attraction here.

There are many famous tourist attractions like Ujjain, Kanha and Sanchi, these places are closely situated and are also well connected with other parts of state.  Transport facilities in Bhopal are very good as the railway station and the bus stand is situated nearby to tourist places.

Gwalior

Gwalior is known as the most renowned historical city of Madhya Pradesh. This city was ruled by famous Rajpoots like Marathas, Tomars and Marwahs. Classical music king Miya Tansen was from this state consequently in his memory every year for three days Tansen Samaroh program is arranged and a number of Classical musicians take part in it to prove their talent.


Gwalior Trade Fair is also very famous in Madhya Pradesh state which runs during December and January. Gwalior is linked with all the chief cities of India via train, air and road.

Jabalpur

This city is situated in the center of Madhya Pradesh state. This city obtains its origin from the native land of great Jabali Rishi as written in history. Holy River Narmada also passes through Jabalpur district and it is the major source of drinking water here. The multi-use project Bargi Dam is constructed on the River Narmada.  This city is well famous for its marble Rocks and unique Dhuandhar water falls. Renowned place Bhedaghat and Madan Mahal Fort are visited every year by many tourists.


Pachmarhi

Pachmarhi in Madhya Pradesh is surrounded by Satpura hills. It is best known as the summer capital of Madhya Pradesh. This is an eminent hill station and its natural beauty is still untouched by national and foreign tourists.

Pachmarhi consists of an awesome group of waterfalls. Here many historical and ancient temples are situated. These are well known top cities of Madhya Pradesh which form this state.
