Khajuraho
Khajuraho is world wide famous for its unique architecture and sculpture. On account of its archaeological and historical grandeur this temple has been recognized by UNESCO as a world legacy. This temple was constructed under the rule of Chandela Rajpoots. It was built during the time period of 950AD to 1050AD.
There were eighty five original temples but now only twenty two temples are surviving. There are three sections in Khajuraho; one is ardha-mandapa i.e. entrance, second is mandapa i.e. assembly hall and third is garbha griha i.e. sanctum. Here you can see various phases of life executed in the form of stone. |
