Madhya Pradesh is equipped with adventurous wild life. The bamboo and sal forests are in abundance here. All kinds of wildlife and countless species of birds are available in the parks of Madhya Pradesh.
Around one third part of Madhya Pradesh land consists of forests. There are number of world wide famous national parks and forests.
Most commonly you can find dense forests in the Satpura, Vindhya-Kaimur, Baghelkhand plateau and Maikala ranges.
Bandhavgarh National Park
This national park is full of varieties of species. Due to abundance of tigers in this park it is famous as home place of tigers. Existence of white tigers is another center of attraction for tourists in this park.
The last known white tiger was captured in the year 1951 by Maharajah Martand Singh and now this stuffed tiger is put for display in Rewa palace of Maharaja. Other species like Indian Sambar, Nihai, deer and Indian Basin can be seen wandering frequently in the park.
The craggy and rocky hills of Bandhavgarh National Park are famous. You can see Bandhavgarh hill in the midst of park which is eight hundred and eleven meters above maximum sea level. It is surrounded by many smaller hills. Bamboos are found in entire Park.
