Gateway of India
Gateway of India is an architectural marvel constructed in the style of Indo-Saracens. The foundation for its establishment was laid way back in the year 1911.

It is the first thing that any person visiting Mumbai by sea catches the glimpse of. It is situated on the waterfront on the Southern side of Mumbai. The monument is indeed worth visiting.

Ajanta Caves

Ajanta caves are the classic example of the finest Buddhist architectures built in the bygone times. The caves are intricately embellished with elaborate carvings and paintings.

The caves consist of the Chaitya shrines constructed in the dedication of Lord Buddha. The caves are built just outside the Ajintha village in the district of Aurangabad. Ajanta caves have been accredited as the world heritage site.

Bibi Ka Maqbara
One of the most renowned places in Aurangabad is the Bibi Ka Maqbara. The monument is admired for its superb designs and architectural style. Built in the style of Mughals, Bibi ka maqbara has been drawing huge crowds year by year.

Ellora Caves
The monasteries and cave temples located at Ellora have been captivating tourists from all across the globe. Located in a linear way one after the other, these caves are the one of their kinds. In totality, there are near about 34 caves that contain the Chaityas of Buddhists as well as the Jain and Hindu temples. The Ellora caves are worth visiting.

Elephanta Caves
Elephanta caves serve as one of the prime destinations for tourist attraction in Maharashtra. In the olden days, they were known as “Gharapuri" meaning the area of caves. It is basically an island that is dotted by numerous caves. It was initially under the control of the Portuguese who called it Elephanta. It has seven caves, the most popular being the Mahesha-Murti Cave, which is known for the grand figures of gatekeepers or the ‘Dvarapalas’.

Haji Ali Mosque
It is the mausoleum of a Muslim Sufi saint named Hazrath Haji Ali. It is one of the most important shrines that were constructed in the eighteenth century. Due to limitations, it is difficult to make a mention of all the tourist attractions as they are innumerable. Maharashtra has never disappointed any of its tourists as the state has something for everyone.
