Meghalaya shares its border with Assam and Bangladesh. The entire Meghalaya is divided in divisions of Garo hills, Khasi hills and Jaintia hills. By Air: -
There is no airport in Meghalaya. The nearest airport is in Guwahati which is 128kilometers away from Shillong. Helicopter service is available between Guwahati and Shillong.

It takes half an hour to reach Shillong from Guwahati by helicopter. You can also go to Tura from Guwahati by helicopter, it takes one hour. This means of transportation is very economical and convenient. You can experience an excellent overview of the state from helicopter. The Helicopters land at Umroi Helipad.

By Rail: - There is no rail connectivity between Meghalaya and rest of the India. The state lacks on rail service. The nearest railway station is Guwahati.
