The three cities are the symbol of prosperity, power and dominance over the world, made of iron, silver and gold. The present cities of Tripura are close resemblance to the ancient cities of mythology.
Tripura has not experienced commercial and industrial development till now. Though the cities are developing a lot, yet they are still in the lapse of nature. The main city of the state is Agartala and others are small cities and towns.

Agartala
Agartala is the main business and cultural hub of Tripura. It is well-connected via air, rail and roads. The rich flora and fauna, the palaces, the lakes, the architectures are the main attractions of Agartala. The best time to visit Agartala is September to March.
Agartala bears the history of the rulers of both Hindu and Muslims. The main attractions of Tripura are Ujjayanta Palace, Kunjaban palace, fourteen goddess temple, Malancha Nivas and Sepahijala Wild life sanctuary.
Agartala is well-connected with Kumarghat and Dharam Nagar railway station. Agartala airport serves Indian airlines to Guwahati and Kolkatal. It is also well-linked with Silchar, Guwahati and Shillong by roadways. Agartala is the main business hub of the hotels and tourist lodges. The State Museum of Tripura is located here.

Udaipur
Udaipur, a small city located at south Tripura district, is 55 kms away from Agartala. Earlier known as Rangamati and Radha Kishorepur, Udaipur is a home of the various temples. The main attractions of Udaipur are Sundari temple, Bhubeneswari temple, Gunabati group of temples and beautiful lakes. Hotels and tourist lodges are accessible here. Udaipur is linked with Kumarghat railway station.
Kumarghat
Kumarghat is the highest fruit producer of the state, especially well-known for pineapple cultivation. The nearest rail station is Kumarghat rail station. It is 140 kms away from Agartala. The main tourist attractions of Kumarghat are Kamalasagar Lake, Neermahal and Venuban vihar Buddhist monastery. Pilak
Perched on green valley, Pilak has so much to offer the tourists. The areas are surrounded with green vegetation of the tribal people. The images, terracotta plaques, sealing dates back to 8th and 9th centuries are symbol of Hindu and Buddhist beliefs.
Agartala, 100 kms away from Pilak is well-connected with it by roads. The nearest rail station is Kumarghat. One can arrange his accommodation at Pantha Niwas, and Bagafa and Dakbanglow. |
