Gumti wild life sanctuary

One can plan to visit this spot throughout the year. Gumti is situated in the south-eastern corner of Tripura.  It covers an area of 389.54 kms; the water reservoir is a home to various migratory and resident birds. This sanctuary is famous for its elephants, deer, bison, wild goat, various species of reptiles and birds. It has also medical and therapeutical botanical plants.

The Agartala airport is located near it. One can stay at Agartala to visit this sanctuary.

Rowa wild life sanctuary

One can plan to visit this sanctuary throughout the year, yet, winter is the best season for the tourist. It is located in the northern district of Tripura. One can visit it from Panisagar which is close to national highway.

Due to various species of plants, the botanists, ecologists and environmentalist started study on them. It is a home to 150-160 species of birds and several other wild beasts. The main forest reserves of the sanctuary are its ornamental plants, oil-seed producing trees, medicinal plants and aromatic plants. One can visit this sanctuary through Agartala from where buses or private taxi are available. Panisagarh Tourist lodge is there.

Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary

Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary is a home of the various species of resident and migratory birds. It is at a distance of 35 km away from Agartala. The nearest rail stations are Kumarghat and Dharamnagar which in turn link with Lumding and Guwahati rail stations of Assam. This sanctuary is rich in flora and fauna and winter migratory birds. 

The flora and faunas are various species of trees, medicinal plants and animals such as leopard, clouded leopard, jungle fowl, monkey and civets, barking deer, wild pig etc. The sight seeing spots are zoological park, the lakes, botanical garden etc.

Trishna wildlife sanctuary

Trishna wild life sanctuary is 18 kms away from Belonia town and located in south Tripura district. It is connected with Agartala by state highway.

The road distance to Agartala is 95 km. The forest reserves of the sanctuary are rich in various species of plants and the attractions are Indian gaur, birds, deer, gibbon, golden langur and reptiles.
