Allahabad
Allahabad was the ancient capital of Uttar Pradesh. It is known as the sacred city for the confluence of the three rivers—Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. It is also known as Prayag, Sangam and Triveni. The Sangam is visited by the tourists of the world.
Maha Kumb Mela is celebrated here. Besides the devotees, the sadhus that reside in the caves of the Himalaya come here in the melas to worship. The Asokan Pillar is glittering in the Allahabad Fort. The city of Allahabad is also famous for its rural handicrafts products.
