In ancient time it was hunting preserve for King of Rewa. The sloth bear and Himalayan Black bear are preserved here but the main attractions are Indian Elephant, Leopard and white Tigers.
Rajaji National Park: - The Park is famous for the rich biodiversity and untouched scenic beauty. It is twenty three kilometers away from Dehradun.
The Park was formed in 1983 and named after freedom fighter C. Rajgopalachari. The Rajaji National Park includes three sanctuaries Rajaji, Motichur and Chilla.
Elephants are the main attraction but Barking Deers, leopards, sambar and peafowl can be also seen. Twenty three mammalian species and 315 species of birds are found here. |
