The National Parks of Uttaranchal offers a diversity of Flora and Fauna. National Parks and Sanctuaries are one of the major attractions to the tourists visiting Uttaranchal. Corbett National Park: - Corbett National park is a large low valley famous for White Tigers. The Tiger Project was launched in 1973. A big lake is present in the west of the park.

Tourist Attractions of Uttaranchal

In ancient time it was hunting preserve for King of Rewa. The sloth bear and Himalayan Black bear are preserved here but the main attractions are Indian Elephant, Leopard and white Tigers.

Rajaji National Park: - The Park is famous for the rich biodiversity and untouched scenic beauty. It is twenty three kilometers away from Dehradun.

The Park was formed in 1983 and named after freedom fighter C. Rajgopalachari. The Rajaji National Park includes three sanctuaries Rajaji, Motichur and Chilla.

Elephants are the main attraction but Barking Deers, leopards, sambar and peafowl can be also seen. Twenty three mammalian species and 315 species of birds are found here.

Nandadevi National Park: - The national park is surrounded by peaks and the highest on is Nandadevi peak. The park gives an impression of cup with green meadows, white waterfalls surrounding it. Joshimath is the base camp for reaching Nandadevi National Park as it is situated at the height of 7817meters. The park is known for various species of mammals, reptiles and plant.

Malsi Deer Park: - It is a newly developed tourist spot best known for the Deers, neelgai and variety of birds. The park is ten kilometers away from Dehradun and is spread over the foot hills of Shivalik ranges. Tourists going to Mussoorie from Dehradun take a break here and enjoy the mini-zoo and the Mountain View.

 

Valley of Flowers National Park: - The famous park is located at upper part of Bhyundar Ganga. The beautiful valley is on the altitude of 6750m from sea level. The scintillating beauty of the colorful flower valley attracts tourists from all over the world. The valley is best known for different species of flowers, butterflies and moth. You can reach the valley via Govindghat
