Road Map of Tripura
Like other Indian states, Tripura's economy relies mainly on agriculture. The shifting or slash and burn cultivation method is slowly replaced by modern farming ones. The state's important crops include jute, cotton, tea, which is its main industry, and fruit. The land also grows wheat, rice, potatoes, and sugar cane.
The old method of cultivation used by its people has destroyed much of the forest and more has been cleared to accommodate refugees from Bangladesh.
Other industries in Tripura include aluminum utensils, rubber, saw milling, and handloom weaving. Rubber plantations are also being established. |

| In order for it to have a good trade with other states in India and with other countries, Tripura has also developed its transportation means such like its roads and railway systems.
Most of its roads have been made concrete to accommodate the vehicles used to transport goods particularly those that come from the agricultural industry. |
