| The average annual rainfall in West Bengal is 1,650 millimeters and occurs mostly during monsoon season. The highest temperature is recorded in the month of May at 31 degrees Celsius, which is favorable to the state's main industry, agiculture.
With this, road development is of great consideration to the local government. Aside from the international airport at Kolkata, West Bengal has well-developed roads and rail infrastructure. Accessible farm to market roads also exist that aid in the fast distribution of cash crops and other commodities. |
